Owning a horse is a major responsibility that comes with a variety of costs. Understanding how to cut costs while still providing care and support are essential to the process. Learning how to utilize pellets for horse stalls can allow you to provide comfort while keeping costs lowered.
To start, you will need to purchase the wood pellets. In order to set up a proper sleeping area for the horse, you will need around six to ten 15kg bags of pellets.
From here, you will want to begin the process by placing a layer of dry pellets on the ground. This will help absorb additional moisture after more pellets have been placed.
From here, you will want to start to wet some of the pellets. The water will cause them to fluff up and become sawdust, which will provide the horse more comfort. Typically, you will need a gallon of water per bag of pallets intended for fluffing up, however, this amount of water required can fluctuate depending on the brand of pellets used. Be sure to do the research as to the intended amount of water needed with each brand to plan accordingly.
